Linked Data

GlobalCampus builds on datasources that contain linked data. This allows for interesting analyses, for example investigating the co-author relationships in a search result.

The Usual Suspects?

Looking at collaborations is interesting to find new clusters that work on similar content, but do not collaborate with a specific group yet. If you are scouting new candidates for a vacancy, looking outside of the direct collaboration cluster of the current group could yield relevant but yet unknown candidates.

It can also be interesting in combination with an institution filter: sometimes even within one university, multiple groups work on similar topics without knowing of the existence of the other group.

Node Centrality

Various concepts from network theory can add extra insight, such as closeness or pagerank centrality or distance metrics. Through the API, it is possible to get additional information on those metrics.
