Applying for research funding is time-consuming enough without spending hours manually scanning through hundreds of open calls to find the ones relevant to each researcher. That's where matchmaking comes in handy by, based on their publications, matching researchers to relevant funding opportunities.

In May, during EARMA 2026 in Utrecht, we presented our matchmaking feature to several research managers. This is something we have been doing for several institutions for a couple of years and is from now on integrated in Global Campus.

At its core, Matchmaking connects researchers with the funding calls most relevant to their expertise. Based on their publications, Global Campus surfaces the call topics where their work is the strongest fit.

After the matchmaking, we can also suggest potential consortium partners based on their previous project history, so you can see at a glance which institutions and research groups have worked on closely related topics. And because knowing the organisation isn't always enough, you can drill down further to find individual experts affiliated with those partners directly through Global Campus.

Why it matters

  • Get the best matching call topics for every researcher on your institution
  • Match with draft and published work programmes from funding schemes like Horizon Europe and EDF
  • Quickly identify relevant potential partners for your next consortium based on projects they have been involved in the past

Do you want to know more about the matchmaking or even receive the results of the mapping of the top 20-50 researchers of your institution against Horizon Europe 26-27 call topics? Feel free to reach out at support@globalcampus.ai.
